Banbridge Academy Fundraising for Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice

The pupils of Banbridge Academy have supported the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice over a number of years as part of the school’s charity programme. Most recently, a coffee morning raised over £400 and to date, the total contributions made to the Children’s Hospice is a staggering £7,604.

Lorna Watson, Regional Fundraiser for the NI Hospice and NI Children’s Hospice, said that ‘all donations will enable NI Children’s Hospice to continue to care for local infants, children and young people living with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses. Each year, it costs £3.8 million to provide Children’s Hospice services, both at Hospice and in the family home, with approximately 35% of these costs met by statutory funding. The charity relies heavily on the generosity and goodwill of the local community to help fund its services. On behalf of the Children’s Hospice, a massive thank you to Banbridge Academy for their continuous support.’
