Nine years ago with a promising teaching career ahead of him at Banbridge Academy Jonny Erskine came to refereeing and did so from his adopted club of Banbridge.  After just four years his singular talent pushed him onto the IRFU national panel where he has steadily climbed for the past 5 years. For Ulster he has refereed the finals of the junior cup, the senior cup, the McCambley, the Miler Wylie, the Foster cup.

For the IRFU he has refereed England v France u18 and B&I cup games and AR’d for Pro 12, B&I cup, Challenge cup and Champions cup as well as being sent by Ireland to the Rugby school international 7’s
