The Big School Cook Off

Two Year 10 pupils, Olivia Miskimmons 10F and Sophie Moore 10F, entered the Mount Charles Big School Cook Off in November. They had to submit a recipe, a photograph of the finished dish and costing (to be under £5).  This was then judged and they were shortlisted to take part in the Regional Co Down Final which was held on Tuesday 30 January.

Accompanied by their Home Economics teacher, Miss Jess, they travelled to Assumption Grammar School in Ballynahinch. The girls worked very hard and produced amazing dishes and were selected as the winners of the Co Down Regional heat. They will now take part in the Grand Final on 21 March where all the Regional Finalists will compete to be crowned the winner of the Mount Charles Big School Cook Off.

Olivia won the The Dairy Council Young Cook of the Year 2016 while in Year 8 and in Year 9 she won Tesco Chef of the Year 2017.

Congratulations to both Sophie and Olivia and well done to Miss Jess!
