Competition Success

Arlene Rowan, a Year 14 student at Banbridge Academy, is to be congratulated on her recent success in two national competitions. She recently entered the Goldman Sachs A Level Girls’ Inspire Programme and the #TellDeloitte competition and has been a great ambassador for Banbridge Academy.

Arlene writes:

“I was selected to attend the Goldman Sachs A Level Girls’ Inspire Programme 2018. It took place over half term in the firm’s London office on Fleet Street. There I watched presentations made by employees from different divisions of the firm, such as Investment Banking and Technology. I also had the opportunity to talk directly to other workers to find out more about what it is like to work in the firm. The event was an excellent chance to gain an insight into the world of finance.”

“A few months ago I also entered the #TellDeloitte competition for which I developed a business idea to make 3D printed houses widely available. I was the December winner, being chosen as my idea was judged as having a potential positive for impact for those who cannot afford their own home. I won an iPad, as well as a place on a one-day innovation workshop in London later this year, where the overall winner of the workshop will receive a £5000 reward to kick start their idea.”
