EHL – Kyle Marshall and Jake Rowe both represented Banbridge Men’s 1st XI

Kyle Marshall and Jake Rowe joint Captains of the Academy 1st XI Boys’ Hockey Team both represented Banbridge Club with distinction during Round 1 of the European Hockey League Competition hosted at Banbridge Hockey Club.

Banbridge Men’s 1st XI coached by ex-pupil Mark Tumilty’s defeated leading French outfit Saint Germain 2-0 with two ex-pupils coming to the fore as Jonny McKee opened the score for Bann before Dane Ward made it an historic opener for Banbridge in Europe.

Bann came from behind twice to snatch a 3-3 draw against heavily fancied Belgian side Royal Leopold to progress, in front of over 2,500 fans at Havelock, to the KO16 round next Easter in Holland.  Ex-pupil Eugene Magee scored and in a dream performance Kyle Marshall scored twice to rapturous applause.

Kyle’s goals have become somewhat of an internet sensation and we wish the Club well in their preparations for the KO16 Competition.
