Ulster Schools’ Cup and Championship 2017

Banbridge Academy swimmers competed at the recent Schools’ Gala, held at the Aurora in Bangor. We are delighted to confirm that Julia Knox, Kate Allenby and Adam Wilson have earned their place on the Ulster Interpro Squad. They will compete in the Irish Schools’ Gala as part of this squad in April 2018 at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin.

Their individual results which earned them their place on the squad are:

Julia Knox (15) – Gold in 100m fly and Silver in 200IM and 400m free.

Kate Allenby (17) – Gold in 100m fly and 200 IM

Adam Wilson (14) – Gold in 200IM

Swimmers making finals were:

Rachel Blemmings – 200 individual medley bronze and final in 100m breast stroke

Ruby McNiff – 100m breast stroke

Declan McGeown – 100m back stroke

Finlay Wright – 100m fly

Alana Burns-Atkin – Bronze in 50m fly and 50m breast stroke

Congratulations to the entire team, with numerous PB’s on the day.

Amy Agnew, Aimee Dawson, Emily Gibson, Sarah Macauley, Niamh McGeown, Kathryn McGrath, Jack Dougan, Tom King, Ronan Quinn.

There were also relays, with the boys 14 and under finishing 4th in medley relay and 8th in freestyle relay.
