Academy rugby teams meet the Barbarians

Banbridge Academy’s U12 & U13 rugby teams had the chance of a lifetime last week when they got to rub shoulders with the superstars from the world-famous Barbarians Rugby team. The Barbarians, who lost narrowly at the weekend to England, were in Northern Ireland to play a match against Ulster Rugby. The Barbarians team doctor is local man Donal O’Shaughnessy and he generously offered Banbridge Academy Rugby the exclusive chance to watch them train and then to meet the players. Fifty academy players from the two teams enjoyed the hour-long training session in Belfast and the boys got the chance to mingle and chat to the Barbarians players afterwards and of course get a few all important autographs.
