Banbridge Academy’s athletes concluded the schools season on Friday with the annual Banbridge District Interschools’ championships held at the Mary Peters’ track. Five local schools were represented: Banbridge Academy, Dromore High, Newbridge Integrated, Rathfriland High and Banbridge High. The Academy had numerous individual winners and good performances and both the Junior Boys and Junior Girls teams won their sections of the competition. Both the Senior teams placed second behind Dromore High in their category which meant that Dromore took the overall title with the Academy a close second. Individually Ryan Hanna claimed the best Junior Boys’ while Nadia Radcliffe claimed the best Senior Girl title. It was an excellent way to draw the curtain on another fantastic season for athletics in Banbridge Academy.
