Banbridge Academy Girls’ 1st XI hockey team defeated Strathearn at Lisnagarvey to reach their fourth Schools’ Cup Final in five years.

The Team Coach, Neil Madeley, was relived to reach the final again, as the 1-0 victory against Strathearn was a rather nervy and close fought game.

Ellen Reid had a phenomenal game in defence and the keeper, Rebecca Spence also had a great game. The Captain, Nadia Benallal, lead her team to victory, scoring the only goal of the match following a short corner.

The girls dug deep to hold on to their 1-0 lead from the first half to book a place in the final.  They should be immensely proud and we wish them well in their preparations for the final against Ballyclare High School on Wednesday 6 March at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club.
