Over the week beginning Monday 1 December, Banbridge Academy Year 14 Sports Science students took over the Year 8 PE classes to lead their 12 Challenges of Christmas Virtual Fitness Event.  All appropriate Health & Safety procedures were in place and the 186 pupils in Year 8 tried their luck at the different challenges including ‘Keepie Uppies’, Frog Stand Hold and Standing Broad Jump.  They also got to attempt these challenges at home and post their scores & videos ‘virtually’ using Google Classroom.  It was a hugely successful event which the pupils thoroughly enjoyed and it gave them a welcome break in these challenging times.

The event was also a charity fundraiser with all proceeds going to Parkinson’s UK.  We take this opportunity to thank Campbell’s Eurospar, who very kindly sponsored 12 Goodie Bags to the pupil with the best scores in each event.
