Last week all Year 8 classes received a copy of the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs in their Religious Studies classes. Year 8 pupils have just finished learning about the origins and content of the Bible.

The Bibles were provided by ‘Good News For Everyone!’ – a fresh expression of what was formerly ‘Gideon’s UK’. It is a membership association made of UK Christians. The branch network of volunteers offers copies of the Bible to Hotels, Schools, Universities, Prisons, Hospitals etc – their aim is to enable everyone to read for themselves about the hope, comfort and guidance contained therein. The local branch would normally come in to school and present them in a Year Assembly. Unfortunately, due to COVID that option was not feasible.
