Banbridge Academy Students achieve outstanding GCSE results

Banbridge Academy students have achieved outstanding GCSE results.  All of the Year 12 students achieved at least 5 A*-C grades, including English and Mathematics, and 99.5% of the students achieved at least 7 A*-C grades, including English and Mathematics – truly outstanding results.  61.1% of all entries resulted in top grades A*/A, and when B grades are included, this figure rises to an impressive 86.1% of all entries.  These are exceptional results and the pupils, parents and teachers of the Academy are to be commended for all of their efforts over the past two years.  These excellent grades will ensure that our young people have the opportunity to continue with their chosen career and they richly deserve their success.

The Principal, Mr McLoughlin, noted the challenging environment in which the preparation for these examinations took place.  He praised the commitment and efforts of the pupils in their studies while paying tribute to the vital support given by their parents, commenting that they should be very proud of the achievements of their sons and daughters.  He further added that as a school we congratulate all of our students on their outstanding results and wish them well as they continue their studies and pursue their future career pathways.

Thanks too must go to the commitment of the teaching staff of the Academy; their dedication to ensuring each pupil reaches their full potential undoubtedly enhances their chance of success.  The education of our young people involves another partnership and I want to pay tribute to my colleagues in our primary schools who have created the foundation for the success our pupils enjoy today.

We celebrate the wonderful success of our students and commend them for all of their hard work during such challenging times over recent years.
