Banbridge Academy Shooting Success

Three Banbridge Academy students had great success at the British Shooting Schools Championships held at Intershoot in Dungannon 12th October. This is a mixed gender, 10m air pistol event, open to novice, through to experienced shooters, with both team and individual competitions.
Banbridge Academy was represented in individual competition by Fergus Lowry, Emma Stewart, and Harry Purdy.
- Fergus Lowry, Y8, placed 2nd in the Junior competition.
- Emma Stewart, Y10, placed 1st in the Intermediate competition.
- Harry Purdy, Y10, placed 8th in the Intermediate competition.
All three competitors started shooting as part of the Pony Club Tetrathlon Competition, which consists of 4 phases – running, swimming, shooting and cross country riding.
Fergus and Emma have now qualified for the UK National Finals, which take place in Birmingham in February 2023. Banbridge Academy would like to congratulate all three pupils on their success and wish Emma and Fergus the best of luck in the next stages.
