ALL-IRELAND CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019

Congratulations to Banbridge Academy pupil, Bethany Nixon, who crowned her year with another superb performance, finishing 4th in the Inter Girls’ 3000m in the All Ireland Championships in Tollymore, Co Offlay.
Bethany’s route to the All-Ireland Championships has been an exciting one, peppered with many victories and PBs.
She gained a Gold Medal and Ulster Schools’ Cross Country Inter Girls’ title as well as being part of the Banbridge Academy’s Intermediate Girls’ Cross Country team, who won the Ulster Inter Girls’ Team Title and gained a Silver medal at the Irish Schools’ Cross Country Championships creating Academy history.
In the District Athletics competition, Bethany won a Gold Medal in the Inter Girls’ 3000m. She also set a new PB and District record to secure her place in the Ulster Championships where she came home with a Gold medal and the title of Ulster Schools’ Champion to go alongside her Cross Country Gold and a result which led her to the All-Ireland Championships this year.
