Banbridge Academy Celebrates Sailing Star Adam Green’s Championship Sweep

Banbridge Academy is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Year 11 pupil Adam Green (11C), who delivered another phenomenal performance at the RYA Youth & Schools Championship this past weekend.

Competing against over 150 sailors across nine fleets, Adam dominated his category, winning six out of seven races and securing first place overall in his fleet. His consistency and composure in stormy conditions earned him not only the Junior Male Champion title but also the prestigious Overall Junior Champion award for the entire championship.

This marks a clean sweep for Adam across Ireland this season, having claimed victories at the Winter Championships, Northern and Southern Championships, Irish Nationals, and now the Youth & Schools Championship—a truly remarkable feat.

Adam’s success has earned him an invitation to the Champion of Champions Cup in Schull, West Cork, where he will compete against the top sailors from 16 different fleets across Ireland. As one of the youngest competitors in the fleet, Adam continues to inspire with his resilience and talent.

Everyone at Banbridge Academy wishes Adam the very best of luck next weekend. We are incredibly proud of his achievements and look forward to seeing what he accomplishes next!
