U16 Girls Play Lurgan College 2XI
By Hannah Jordan (captain). Lurgan College 2nd XI – 0, Banbridge U16 – 0. We knew it was going to be a tough match, playing a team above us. Wth a final score of 0-0, we were glad to have not lost, but still disappointed to have ended our winning streak. During the first half of the match, Lurgan dominated the play with most of the action happening in our half. But our defence stayed strong and prevented the ball from settling in the back of our goal. Half time was a well needed break to get some fluids onboard and have a team talk. In the second half, we improved our game and we received a lot more possession. With the defence clearing the ball which reached the forwards, we gained ground and were rewarded 2 penalty corners in the final half. We tried very hard to stay focused once we were in the circle, but we were unable to place the ball in the net.
I would like to say a special thank you to Beth Matson and Ellen Wright for playing for us, Dr Dobson and Philip Brown for coaching us during the match, and Neil for umpiring.
