Friendly – Banbridge Academy vs Regent House 28.11.15 Final score: 6-0

After a successful win on Tuesday, this friendly match was seen to be a great practice. With low temperatures and wet weather, the girls played amazingly well to seal a 6-0 win over Regent House.

From the first whistle, the Banbridge attack gained dominance over the Newtownards players, which resulted in an early goal from Hannah Jordan. The defence worked very well to prevent the Regent House players from having a chance at winning a goal, and accurate tackles made by the midfield resulted in Hannah Jordan deflecting the ball into the net to gain another goal which increased the Banbridge lead. As the attack continued to build the pressure on the Regent House defence, an excellent strike from Sophie Mount and an own goal by Regent House brought the half time score to 4-0.

Throughout the second half, the Regent House attack had several breakthroughs, but the Banbridge defence stayed strong through a defensive corner, and they prevented Regent House from reaching our net. A third goal from another deflection by Hannah Jordan after several attacking corners and an accurate slap rewarded Rebekah Dougan a goal, resulting in a excellent final score of 6-0.

We send our best wishes to Emma McCrea who suffered a head injury during the match after playing exceptionally well.

I would like to say a special thank you to Mrs Camblin for umpiring and coaching us during the match, and Mrs Glover for attending the game.
