By Molly Mathers.  On the first netball tournament of the season, Banbridge Academy got off to a brilliant start with the A team beating St. Patricks 5-0, Dromore A 5-4, Dromore B 5-2, St. Malachys 7-1, Tandragee 5-3, and narrowly losing to Banbridge Academy B’s and Killicomaine. The B team also played fantastically, beating St. Patricks 6-0, Banbridge Academy A’s 3-1, Dromore B 5-1, Tandragee 2-0, St Malachys 4-1, drawing with Killicomaine 4-4 and narrowly losing to Dromore. This amazing play took the B team to the final against Killiocomaine where they unfortunately lost 9-5.

Throughout the day there were many wonderful goals from Katie Cartmill, Lynsey Orr, Ellie Macauley and Bethany Nixon. Lynsey Orr was named ‘Player Of The Tournament’ and she was rewarded with a £20 gift voucher for Shoe Fair Sports. Mrs Lawther also kindly gave her helpers (Molly Mathers, Emily Stevenson, Natasha Kerr, Sarah Walker and Sarah Magennis) chocolate Santas and to everyone who played throughout the day she provided chocolate Celebrations.

At the end of the day, everyone was puffed out but had lots of fun and we would like to thank all the schools and teachers who participated and made the day enjoyable.
