Six Banbridge Academy pupils were successful in the 2024 Chinese Bridge Mandarin Speaking Competition for UK Schools and progressed to the London Finals in May, 2024.

Adam Brown: Individual Beginners Finalist – unfortunately, Adam was not able to make the final due to examination commitments the next day.

Drew Copeland, Jack Pollock, Tom Sneddon, Kris Ivanov and Julia Gomba: Group Beginners Finalists. Kris and Julia were nominated by their peers to represent the group at the London Final and were placed third overall– a terrific achievement considering they were competing against fluent Mandarin speakers.

Banbridge Academy are indebted to Ms Rui Zuo, their Mandarin teacher, for her outstanding work over two years at the school.
