Banbridge Academy dancers achieved outstanding success at this year’s NICMAC Competition, held at Lisburn Leisureplex, returning with an impressive collection of top awards across multiple categories. From dynamic team entries to expressive solo performances, every participant displayed remarkable dedication, creativity, and stage presence.

This season marked the Academy’s inaugural participation in the Exercise Dance Fitness division, and both teams made an exceptional debut by taking first place in their respective sections—an achievement that set a positive tone for the remainder of the event.

The Junior Large Team brought the vibrant world of Lilo and Stitch to life, earning a well‑deserved second place for their energetic and characterful routine.

A beautifully executed Bridgerton‑themed performance from the Mixed Team impressed judges with its refined musicality and seamless partner work, securing first place.

Meanwhile, the Senior Team entertained audiences with a spirited Hocus Pocus‑inspired routine, showcasing confident performance quality, unity, and strong choreography.

Success continued in the smaller group and individual categories:

• Junior Duets claimed first place in both the Anything Goes and Jazz sections—an outstanding result, particularly as both routines were choreographed by senior students.
• The Senior Trio earned second place for their expressive and polished performance.
• The Intermediate Duet delivered a controlled and well‑synchronised routine, securing first place.
• The Senior Soloist impressed judges with exceptional artistry, precision, and stage command.

Banbridge Academy expressed sincere thanks to Ruth Cobb, whose expert choreography played a key role in the success of many routines. Staff commended all dancers for their commitment, teamwork, and positive attitude throughout the competition.
