The Biology department at Banbridge Academy is celebrating fantastic success in the 2026 Biology Challenge competition.

A group of Year 11 students took part during class time in May, competing against an impressive 43,685 students from 621 schools across the UK and internationally. The competition is open to students aged 13–15 and tests not only curriculum knowledge but also a wider interest in the natural world.

A special congratulations to Emily Nesbitt, Jakub Lyons, Sophie Corbett and Stafford Magennis, who achieved Silver awards, placing them in the top 10% worldwide — an outstanding accomplishment! In addition, seven students earned Bronze awards, with a further eight receiving Highly Commended recognition.

A fantastic achievement by all involved — we are incredibly proud of our students’ enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication to Biology!
