Our show jumpers have been busy competing in a series of schools’ competitions during March.

On Wednesday 6^th March they were competing at the Omagh Academy Inter Schools’ Show in Castle Irvine, Necarne Demesne, Irvinestown. A 1m team was entered into the Balmoral Qualifier event and rode well in a strong event managing to come 4^th out of 12 teams. The team was as follows:

Julianna Nelson Dynamo d’euro

Serena Brown on Lyra’s Lady

Tilley Tumilty on Millbarr Phynix

Charlotte Betts on Akaroa Bittersweet

Three other riders also entered:

Lucy Baird on Sprite jumping in the 65-70cm class and in the 75-80 cm class Emma Baird on Rocky and Holly Rice on Supreme Dream.

All the riders expressed their thanks to Mrs Lisa Tumilty who was chef d’ équipe on the day.

On Sunday 17 March Banbridge Academy had two teams jumping in the St Patrick’s Day Inter Schools Show Jumping Competition which included a Balmoral Qualifying event.

Our novice team of Lily Murphy (Willow), Rachel Sands (Jimmy) and Freya Fisher (Hughie) had a fantastic competition and placed 2^nd.  This is Rachel’s last competition for school and it was lovely for her to take part in the lap of honour.

The 1m Balmoral team was 5th, again another great performance from a very hard working group of Tilley Tumilty, Freya Fisher, Lily Murphy and Rachel Sands.
