Year 8 pupils starting at Banbridge Academy got a ‘Step Up’ recently when they took part in a half day workshop with Young Enterprise.

The ‘Step Up’ programme encourages young people to think about the transition from primary to secondary school and to reflect on their own skills and interests.

Pupils enjoyed exploring the idea of entrepreneurship and developed their own teamwork, communication, problem solving and creative skills through a range of interactive activities.

As part of the day’s activities, teams were tasked with coming up with a fund-raising event and each session finished with a presentation of their ideas to their peers.

It was great to see pupils ‘Step Up’ to the challenge as they embark on their secondary

education.
